“The Forum was the most significant event that I attended in many, many years in terms of intellectual challenge and participation. It has changed my perception of meetings — before tedious and useless to now challenging and interactive. I will try to integrate some of the concepts to my own work.” - Professor Ana Iglesias, University of Madrid
The Challenge Program on Water and Food held its inaugural International Forum on Water and Food (IFWF) in Vientiane, Lao PDR from November 12 – 17, 2006, hosted by the Mekong River Commission.
IFWF fell about halfway through the first phase of the CPWF and represented a stock-take of where the Program was and where it was heading, bringing together what had so far been learned. Knowledge generated at the Forum was used to guide the Program into the remainder of its first phase and into its second.
